March 27, 2026 Final Reflection
It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of the semester already. We started off in January with a first class discussing FIPPA, and the documentary Most likely to succeed. Week two, we learned how to screen-record in zoom, and practiced by making and editing a short video. Week three, we talked about AI, thinking especially about the way that many models use the data to learn, which poses a privacy issue when it comes to our students and FIPPA.
Week four‘s topic continued on the theme of making me think ‘what information are we putting where’ similarly to AI, and any other online sharing of information. I find that the convenience of multi-device access from tools like Google Keep doesn’t outweigh the accessibility and freedom of a word document. However, as we see in week five‘s Pro-D session, some online curated resources can be great ways of sharing resources directly to our students.
Our visit to PSII in week 6 was really interesting, and I found out that a kid I know attends the school. Great to get a different perspective on education, and see an alternate model of education in action. Week 7 had us trying out all sorts of games. I’ll admit here that I doctored the screenshot of my final score in the game about misinformation; I did not get over 45k, rather my final score was a lofty 14.5k.
Week 8‘s EdCamps were another interesting in class activity that seems to be adaptable for any topic in any classroom.
Finally, in our last class, we did some old school pen-and-paper sketch noting while reflecting on the course. Here’s mine!

Pictured in the sketchnote are an AI datacenter, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, a Gartner Hype Cycle, High Tech High and Pacific School for Innovation and Inquiry, edcamps, E-games, Zoom, Resource curation, and Idéllo as seen in class, and a teapot and cup, and my average breakfast, which were always present but off camera on my desk during classes.
